XIBIT: THE FUTURE IS OURS

The 'Bruce Caves' in Ontario are a part of a heritage trail from the Niagara gorge running north of Owen Sound along the shore of Georgian Bay to Tobermory.  My husband and I explored this trail for 35 years. It is still remembered deeply as a place of unbelievable beauty and a visceral experience of natural history.  Under the water or in rain the stone has a bluish colour because of the reflection of the sky through the water or on the stone.  My thought here was to emphasize that simple phenomenon as experienced. After all a painting is a representation to a degree of abstraction from the reality; not the real thing. This is why I like photography when I want to capture the actual view as evocatively as I can. By choosing this color to push the expression, I am using more artistic freedom.
